I began seeing Dr. Rini a month after having my first child and struggling for 4 months with severe pain in my back and legs when I walked. I could barely move and even small chores like going to the grocery store were almost impossible. I had visited two different doctors and was prescribed Vicadin multiple times. The meds didn't help and I didn't want to live my life reliant on Vicadin.
Dr. Rini was the first person to truly listen to my concerns and actually look into what was causing my pain. Now I have been seeing Dr. Chris for 3 months and am able to walk over an hour every night as well as care for my 4 month old. The regular activities that most people do without thinking are things I can do now as well.
I was very stupified when I began seeing Dr. Chris. I hadn't ever been to a chiropractor and was nervous to trust him. At this point, I trust him, he has proven to me that he truly cares about my health and will work with me to maintain my current lifestyle.

It sure has been amazing how quickly winter changed from being very mild to 2 big snow storms in the last 2 weeks! With all the snow that is covering the ground, there is a tendency for both kids and adults to be in the refrigerator more often then normal. As long as you are monitoring your portions so you don't overeat, and of course monitoring those cravings, a healthy snack can actually be beneficial. With snacking in mind, I thought I would share a few healthy snack tips with you.
1. 1/4 sup of low-fat cottage cheese with 1/2 cup peach slices.
2. 1/2 banana smeared with 1/2 tablespoon natural peanut butter and sprinkled with cinnamon.
3. 1/4 avocado smeared on 1 slice of whole-wheat bread, sprinkled with sea salt.
4. 30 pistachios, shelled, or 45 edamame in pods.
With January ending next week, I just wanted to give a final reminder about our January friends and family referral will so make sure to refer your loved ones so they can take advantage of getting their new patient exam and x-rays free (a $74-$114 value, not applicable with Medicare, A/A, or W/C). Also, our office hours have changed slightly so we are now open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9-12 and 2-6.

Exam: Dr. Chris will speak with you about any past injuries, accidents and any current pain you are experiencing. He will take a quick look at your back, neck and any other areas that might be necessary and determine whether an x-ray is needed for him to proceed.
X-ray: Here at Roscoe Chiropractic we use state of the art technology called Videofluoroscopy or simply a Moving X-ray. If you want to see an example of this check out our video at the Moving x-ray link
We know that visiting a doctor for the first time can be a little nerve-wracking so in an effort to streamline your initial visit here we would like to give you an idea what to expect and even provide for you all the paperwork you will need to fill out if you would like to print them and have them ready when you come in. If you would like an appointment please call us and we will be happy to help you find a time to come in. Please set aside at least a half an hour for your first visit.
Adjustment: Dr. Chris believes that gentle stimulation will result in progressive changes to your problem areas. So you won't experience any twisting or painful pulling. Under most circumstances adjustments will not hurt. You might experience a minor amount of discomfort during the adjustment which lasts only seconds. Chiropractic adjustments are extremely safe! Recent studies have demonstrated that chiropractic manipulation is 600-2,000 times safer than over the counter anti-inflammatories (like ibuprofen) and over 10,000 times safer than surgery. So put your mind at ease, it is very safe.

Dr. Chris Rini - Chiropractor
Dr. Rini (Dr. Chris to his patients) graduated from Palmer College Cum Laude and is board certified. For two years, he studied under Dr. Vern Pierce, an originator of the "alternative" technique. Dr. Rini has over 16 years of chiropractic experience and continues to expand his expertise through board certified specialized training. He has an active sports injury focus and works daily with athletes of all ages.
Tracy Hammack - Massage Therapist
Michele Van Fleet - Chiropractic Assistant
Tracy Hammack is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist by NCBTMB. She is also Certified in Facial Massage, Cold Stone Therapy for Migraine Headaches and Raindrop Therapy for body detox. She is licensed in the state of Illinois. Tracy attended ASIS Massage program at Rock Valley College. She is also a member of ABMP. Tracy's goal is to enhance the lives of others through touch, creating a practice that models her dreams, goals and passions, doing what she loves in an environment she creates.
Michele will probably be the first face you see or voice you hear in your initial experience with Roscoe Chiropractic. She joined the company in December 2011 and has already enjoyed meeting and looks forward to meeting all the wonderful patients that come in to see Dr. Chris.
